Helping teens find positive directions...
The Pathways Program is a holistic program dedicated to providing specialized treatment and intensive supervision to adolescents who commit sexual offenses and to their families. The Pathways Program is comprised of two primary components: the Pathways Treatment Program and the Pathways Aftercare Program.
The Pathways Treatment Program provides community based services such as intensive individual and group counseling, a family treatment component, case management, consistent contact with our clients' schools and Probation Officers, and 24 hour on-call crisis support. The adolescents in the program move through four phases of treatment: Offense Disclosure, Pattern Recognition, Empathy, and Relapse Prevention.
The Pathways Aftercare Program is designed to bridge the gap between successful completion of an intensive, specialized treatment program and full autonomy within the community through services, support, and accountability. Services included: individual and family counseling, support groups, case management, consistent contact with our clients' schools and Probation Officers, and 24 hour on-call crisis support.
All clients are court-ordered to treatment and referred through The Office of Juvenile Probation & Parole of Lancaster County. Pathways' primary focus is to provide services for perpetrators of sexual abuse.
Pathways in the Community
- Although the program goal is to maintain the adolescents in the community, community safety takes priority in treatment
- To maintain the highest level of community safety, Pathways strictly follows the guidelines for treatment and community safety developed by The Association for the Treatment of Sexual Offenders (ATSA), a national organization focused on treatment for adolescents and adults who commit sexual offenses.
- Self-referrals may be accepted for counseling services that are not part of the Pathways Program.
Pathways in Education
- Staff is available to assist professionals and interested persons to help them understand the dynamics of sexual abuse and the treatment for adolescent offenders
- Parents are encouraged to contact our program with questions or concerns they may have about possible sexual abuse and their adolescent
The Pathways Program was the recipient of the Community Based Program of the Year Award for 2003 given by the Juvenile Court Judges Commission of Pennsylvania. The team received this award at the annual Awards Banquet in November, 2003.
